Swallow Falls is a large but obscure island that cannot even normally be seen on maps due to most of it being obscured by the "A” in "Atlantic Ocean" and appears to be located far to the east of New York city in the United States (& direct east of Soviet Russia). The island consist solely of the town and uninhabited wilderness with trees and vast grassy plains but no sign of animals. The only known creatures to have lived on or near the island were Sardines (the town's primary export) and Ratbirds (which are the mutant creations of Flint Lockwood). The mostly empty wilderness was occupied by Mount Leftovers, a mountain made of the uneaten food created by the FLDSMDFR and kept in place by a large dam. After the dam broke during the Food Hurricane, almost the entire town was destroyed in a massive Foodalanche and the island was flooded with leftover giant food.

After the FLDSMDFR was stopped by Flint, it somehow survived its destruction and landed on the abandoned Swallow Falls. It then went on to create more food and change the entire landscape of the island, turning it into a majestic food wilderness inhabited by Foodimals, completely changing the island from what it once was into a place out of this world.
