Onions are living food created by the FLDSMDFR. The most notable Onion in the films is Pearl, a pet onion owned by one of the Pickles.

Onions are enemy food creatures that appear in the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs video game.
The onion has a purple bulb that stands about 3 feet tall, with a white stalk that extends upward for another 3 feet, fading to green at the tips. It is propelled by a tangle of roots beneath the bulb and moves rather slowly.
Onions will slowly inch their way closer to Flint, but move slowly enough that they can be avoided easily. Should Flint get close enough, the onion will rattle for a second and then release a cloud of toxic fumes. Onions are not affected by chili, oil, or honey, and can be destroyed using the Chopper-er. When its destroyed, it releases one last burst of toxic gas.
