The Doppler Weather Radar 2000 Turbo is a portable weather radar device. It was created in 1984 and marketed as the "only enormously successful portable portable weather radar system".
Appearance
The Doppler is contained in a sleek gray carrying case with a black handle. The screen on the inside of the case is a Plan Position Indicator (PPI), a radial 2-dimensional view of weather patterns. The display can be adjusted using switches and knobs on the bottom console and dials on the top console.
History
When Sam Sparks was a little girl "totally obsessed with the science of weather", she wanted a Doppler Weather Radar 2000 Turbo. Though she was relentlessly mocked for her interests by her peers, she did at one point obtain the tool of her dreams. When Flint Lockwood encouraged her to embrace her nerdy self, she enthusiastically pulled out her dusty Doppler.
Using the data from the Doppler, Sam warned the world of impending doom and helped Flint navigate to the Meat-a-Roid in the Flying Car II.
